When asked to describe Season 4 of “Emily in Paris,” series star Lucien Laviscount had three choice words: “Chaotic,” “opulent” and a little bit “heartbreaking.”
“We’ve known these characters for a lot longer now, so we hit a little bit deeper notes and deeper tones,” Laviscount told Variety about the new season, which is broken up into two parts. “So I feel like — how can I put it? It’s a journey.”
On Wednesday night, Laviscount and the glamorous cast of “Emily in Paris,” as well as series creator, writer and executive producer Darren Star, posed for photographers outside of Hollywood’s Egyptian Theater. The famed cinema was transformed into a petal pink runway to celebrate the fourth season premiere of the Netflix dramedy series.
“Emily in Paris” follows Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), an American marketing executive who moves to Paris and gives her Western perspective to the Parisian fashion industry while meeting friends, making enemies and falling in and out of love along the way.
Lucas Bravo, who plays Gabriel, one of Emily’s European beaux, described the new episodes as “more mature” — ripping away the naivety that comes with living in a foreign country and getting to the heart of the characters’ problems.
